When we take a good photo, the size of the image is set, the size of the photo is generally rectangular, in many places, we need a square photo as a profile picture or ID photo, here, many people commonly used method is cutting, but this method will lose a lot of details in the photo, and some people straight to a square photo, but the picture will be deformed. So, is there a way to change the size of the image to the shape you want without changing the details of the original image? Yes, here is a method I have used myself for many years.
photoshop
First, we find a picture
We open it in photoshop and see in the image size that it has 400×600 pixels. Obviously, this picture is rectangular.
If you follow the normal idea, change the size directly here in the image size
Change to 600×600, when the photo is square, but the image is also deformed, can not achieve the desired effect.
We can use the following method: Enter the canvas size
Change the pixels to 600×600 pixels in the canvas size
At this point, the canvas expands.
We used the imitation stamp tool to repair the expansion of the image
